DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY HARD OF HEARING GROUP

The Dumfries and Galloway Hard of Hearing Group, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, provides support and relief to those in need by reason of being hard of hearing. The group operates across Dumfries and Galloway offering care and maintenance service of hearing aids, through drop in clinics, giving advice and support regarding hearing aid maintenance and managing hearing loss in the local community. The service is complementary to the services provides by the NHS and Social Work and is accessible across D & G.
The group has been in operation since April 2008 and became a charity in 2014. The group has developed into offering Deaf Awareness sessions to the community and Deaf Awareness Training to care home staff/volunteers and other organisations. We also offer a drop in service to Care Homes in the region, offering training and support to staff and managing the maintenance of hearing aids to residents that are unable to attend our usual clinics.
