Lifelong Learning Opportunities take place in the local community across Annandale & Eskdale, these opportunities include:

  • Adult Literacy & Numeracy provision – both in groups and 1:1 support -It’s never too late to brush up on your reading, spelling, grammar, punctuation, or writing. Or why not improve your skills in working with numbers? This could mean working with time, timetables, supermarket receipts or even budgeting your cash, including fractions and decimals.
  • Beginners computing - technology drop-ins for help using and getting the best out of computers, lap tops, tablets or phones
  • Creative Writing
  • Quick reads reading groups – if you are out of the habit of reading or would like to try something new
  • Women’s Groups
  • Confidence Building
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) - Do you want to improve your English?

We offer a range of groups where the tutor will work on your reading, writing, talking and listening at a pace
and level that suits you. All our classes are free of charge and take place in various locations across Annandale & Eskdale including Annan and Lockerbie.
In addition we also have one off events across the region that die in with national days i.e. World Book Day
and International Women’s Day.
Our courses are arranged to reflect the needs of the local community and we are able to provide credit crunch
cooking, driving theory assistance, computing for employability and confidence building.
Please get in touch if there is anything you would be interested in learning –if we don’t offer it ourselves, we may
know someone who does
